About BoardStack
We built BoardStack because we couldn't find HOA software that actually worked for volunteer boards. Most tools are built for professional property management companies running dozens of communities — they're expensive, complex, and assume full-time staff.
The typical volunteer treasurer is using QuickBooks or a spreadsheet to manage dues, violations, and reserve funds. QuickBooks can't separate operating and reserve funds — that's called commingling, and it's a compliance violation in most states. Boards don't know this until a homeowner sues.
BoardStack is a validation-stage product. We're talking to boards right now to understand the exact problems before we write more code. If you run a self-managed HOA, we'd love to hear from you.
